When an online clothing store claims that they present the
best formal men’s collection, how many times you believe it? When a travel firm
says that they have lowest airfares with well served packages, do you believe
it? When a pizza shop write in their advertisement that they bake the most
delicious pizzas in the town, do you believe that they really do so? When a financial consulting firm talks about
their unbeatable consulting services and work, do believe in their statements?
Often such statements are hard to believe, until and unless
we meet a person who has experienced it first hand. Business owners believe in
the statements they say in their marketing campaigns and they expect others also
to just believe in them. On the other hand, the kind of belief we may have in
ourselves and our businesses can be practically imaginary in the business. That
is the common reason of failure of major marketing campaigns and promotional activities;
however no body can deny the effectiveness of the referrals and word of mouth.
But how can we do it? First you have to admit the fact that in the small business consulting industry people
can’t believe in what you say just because of your good personality. But if we
can’t talk about the value of your firm and don’t speak about how great services
our firm is offering through marketing and messaging, then who will?
In the financial services
industry the use of testimonials are not allowed and written comments from
clients sometimes don’t work, but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t work on
your business marketing strategy. If you want your message heard and believed viral
marketing and referrals campaigns are still gainful approaches, and it becomes
more effective when someone else speaks your message and talks about your
reliable financial consulting
services, not you. But again there is a problem, if you provide just good
consulting services, no body would care to speak about you, in fact it happens
only when you services are extraordinarily good, that will recommend people to
talk about you do what you say.
You need to revise your client account review. During the
meeting with clients do ask them why they chose you to get small business consulting services and what forced them to contact
you. Get them to tell their story and ask them to share it with others in their
industry.
